Get ready to grab some pink lemonade and pop into a cute sundress, because the upcoming MAC Flamingo Park Collection is going to make you feel like Spring has arrived. The extra large collection is filled with gorgeous shades of pink and coral for cheeks, lips and nails along with a couple accent colors for eyes.
The collection will be available online January 28th and will hit stores February 4th. It’s a pretty large collection and I have quite a few pieces to share (yet I still feel like it’s barely half)! In addition to what you’ll see below, the collection will also contain an Eye Shadow X9 palette, nail lacquers and many more shades for lips and cheeks.
Beauty Powders & Blushes
I think one of the main attractions of this collection will be the cheek products. The collection features two gorgeous MAC Beauty Powders ($22) and seven MAC Powder Blushes ($22). This collection is going to be a difficult one to pass on by for any blush lover.
The Beauty Powders include Sunny Surprise, a soft peach and Pearl Blossom a silvery, pale pink. You can think of Beauty Powders like oversized, slightly-sheer blushes. I like to think of them more like complexion boosters, which can be used on the cheeks, but also dusted over the forehead, nose and chin for some added warmth, color and (sometimes) shimmer. Both of the Beauty Powders are beautiful, but a part of me likes the icy highlight that Pearl Blossom gives!
The Blushes that I have been playing with are What I Fancy, a soft apricot, Spring Flock a light coral and Oh My!, a reddish coral (this one is an online exclusive). All of the blushes are “Satin” textures, which is pretty much my favorite. They go on with the slightest sheen that makes them look totally natural and not too chalky like some matte blushes can be.
Blushes are one thing that MAC does really well, time and time again, in my opinion. Each one of these shade are beautifully pigmented, ultra smooth and the colors are totally irresistible! Be aware of Oh My! though—as I’m sure you can tell from the swatches below, a little goes a very long way.
Lipsticks & Lip Glosses
The other focus of the collection is the gorgeous array of MAC Lipsticks ($17) and MAC Cremesheen Glasses ($20). Perfect for Spring, this collection features a huge array of shades from pale pink to bright coral to intense magenta.
The collection features nine Lipsticks, of which I have six, including Long Legged & Fabulous (soft, baby pink Cremesheen Pearl), Saint Germain (pastel pink Amplified), The Fashion Flock (bright coral Matte & available exclusively online), Nice To Meet You (pink-red Cremesheen), Flocking Fabulous (bright coral Cremesheen Pearl) and Be Silly (fuchsia pink Matte).
I think the swatches speak for themselves—they are all fabulous! I like the variety in texture as I find MAC typically sticks to one or two in a collection, but realistically the shade is only as good as the texture to me. My favorite shades are definitely Long Legged & Fabulous and Be Silly, but really all of them are sure to please.
The collection also includes five Cremesheen Glass, of which I have two, including Such Sweeties (pastel pink) and Look Who’s Here! (soft pink with shimmer). As much as I love these lipglosses (no stickiness at all!), I do have to say they aren’t that unique. They are both quite sheer, and one simply offers a milky pink hint while the other one adds a tiny kiss of shimmer. If you don’t have anything like them in your collection, then go for it—they look great layered on top of any of the lipsticks too!
In addition to the gorgeous cheek and lip products, I have a few other items from the collection including the MAC Lip Pencil ($16.50) in Embrace Me (a fuchsia pink), the MAC Technakohl Liner ($16.50) in Raisinette (purple-ish brown) and the MAC Pigment ($22) in Golden Olive (frosted green-gold).
The lip pencil is a standard shade we’ve seen in so many MAC collections—great for any hot pink or fuchsia lip color. Not much else to say about this one!
I’m surprisingly in love with the MAC Technakohl Liner in Raisinette. The shade reminds me of a cake eyeliner I once had that was custom created for me and my hazel eye color (note: purples bring out the green in hazel eyes really well). I typically use brown eyeliner on a daily basis, so this one with a tint of purple to it is the perfect little twist for me. Plus, the formula is super creamy and long-wearing, so I’m definitely a fan.
I’ve never been a huge lover of MAC Pigments, so even though I think this golden olive shade is really beautiful, I’m not going to reach for it very often. I think its a really nice complement to the collection (when thinking about pink and coral shades), but I’ve never been a fan of loose eyeshadows. For those that do love MAC pigments, this unique shade is quite flattering because of the golden shimmer, so you may want to check it out!
Once again, the collection will be available online January 28th and will hit stores February 4th. Let me know if you’ve got your eye on anything from this bright and cheerful collection!
