Harissa Chicken

Harissa-Marinated Chicken recipe



1 tbsp lemon juice

2 teaspoons harissa *recipe at the bottom

2 4-oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Kosher salt

1 tbsp. avocado oil


In a medium bowl, whisk lemon juice with harissa . Season the chicken breasts with kosher salt and add to the bowl, turning to coat both sides. Cover and let stand 15 minutes. Heat oven to 350°. In a large ovenproof skillet, heat avocado oil over medium-high until hot but not smoking. Pat chicken dry, add to skillet and cook until lightly browned, 3 minutes per side. Transfer pan to oven and bake until chicken is just cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

Green Harissa:                                                                                         

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 2 medium jalapeños
  • ½ bunch green onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup parsley leaves
  • ⅓ cup cilantro leaves
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt


Put all in a food processor. Can be served with roasted cauliflower,steaks,fish,chicken and pork
